Our ongoing education initiatives support over 400 youth through a school for migrant children (Thailand), an orphanage (Nepal), and scholarships (Kenya, Thailand, and Nepal). In Thailand, we work closely with the North Andaman Network, and the Moken indigenous people, supporting locally-led projects for ecological restoration, cultural independence, and economic empowerment. Disaster Recovery
Nepal Earthquake 2015
Global Purpose Group was initially founded in response to the 2004 tsunami, in order to support short-term relief and long-term recovery. When the Nepal earthquake struck on 25 April 2015 the knowledge gained in 2004 was pivotal to our success in providing assistance. In fact through WeHelpNepal we were able to bring essential supplies to thousands of people before the international relief arrived.
We knew that our projects must be:
- Locally-led and staffed
- Corruption-free – money supports need, not greed
- Building capacity at the community level
- Supporting long-term resilience and autonomy
- Committed to social justice and sustainability

Get involved
We welcome your support and participation in our projects, so please get in touch if you would like to donate or volunteer. Since our projects are grassroots, person-to person assistance, donations go straight to the people that need them.
- All donations go directly to projects.
- Administrative time and costs are donated by board members.
Want to see the Thailand projects for yourself?
You can join the Moken for a journey on a houseboat, volunteer to teach the kids at the Andaman Center, and stay in a seaside fishing village with a host family.
