Our goal is to raise $6000 USD which will cover the cost of a new x-ray scanner and extra imaging plates.
The images that will be obtained with the new scanner with enable the highest quality of diagnosis of problems which will benefit all the patients seen at the dental school.
After discussions with the faculty they identified x-ray imaging improvement as a priority. It is beyond the budget to switch to expensive digital sensors. The best solution for the school is a image plate scanner that can digitize all the images and be used by all the departments in the dental school. There is a Dentsply dealer in Kathmandu that sells the Durr Vista Scan. The unit will be purchased in Nepal making it easy to be properly maintained.
